Inez Brown-Crouch: Candidate for JIPSD Commmissioner




Inez Brown Crouch was born and raised on James Island. She has been an involved resident and public servant for 50-plus years.  A proud member of the historic Honey Hill community, she was the founder of the Honey Hill Neighborhood Association Inc. a non-profit organized in 1991 to assist residents and their families.
Inez has served as James Island PSD Commissioner since 1998. As past chairperson of both the James Island PSD Fire and Administrative Committees, she has experience in all facets of the district.  Inez serves as a member of the Intergovernmental Committee that includes all James Island elected officials.
Commissioner Brown-Crouch served on the original steering committee to incorporate the Town of James Island. In 2011, she was invited to serve on the board of Free James Island, and was honored to assist the Town in its final, successful incorporation.



Inez assists with the Town’s James Island Pride Committee. Her passion is working with children and through Hope for James Island, Inc.; she has organized a mentoring group for 7th graders at James Island Middle School. She regularly volunteers in island schools.
Inez’s career as a registered psychiatric nurse (now retired) has enabled her to have empathy, understanding and compassion for others.    She is a graduate of W. Gresham Meggett High School on James Island and University of Rockland Community College of Orangeburg, New York where she received an A.A.S. in Nursing.

She is a member of Saint James Church.    She lives in Lighthouse Point with her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and John Jones and her granddaughter Jalyn Jones.
